John H. Small, Jr.

John H. Small Jr. practices in the Firm’s Litigation Group. John is a skilled litigator with deep experience in real estate, commercial litigation, and landlord-tenant law. At the Firm, John brings a strategic and efficient approach to dispute resolution, honing over a decade of practice experience across both public and private sectors.

John’s litigation career began in the Bronx County District Attorney’s Office, where he prosecuted a high volume of misdemeanor cases and developed strong trial advocacy skills. Since transitioning into civil litigation, John has successfully managed complex commercial real estate disputes, residential and commercial summary proceedings, and code enforcement matters before the New York Civil and Supreme Courts. His experience includes conducting trials and hearings, drafting pleadings, negotiating settlements, and advising clients on regulatory infractions.

Prior to joining the Firm, John served as a litigation associate at several reputable New York firms, where he oversaw a high volume of real estate and contract matters with a focus on results and client service.

John earned his J.D. from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University and holds a B.S. in Business Economics from SUNY Oneonta. He is admitted to practice in New York and brings a practical, business-informed perspective to his litigation work.
