Avinash (Avi) Chokshi practices in the Firm’s Transactions and Litigation Groups. Avi is a thoughtful and versatile attorney whose practice blends real estate litigation, regulatory compliance, and corporate legal experience. At the Firm, Avi contributes a broad and adaptable legal skillset shaped by hands-on experience in both government and private sectors.
Prior to joining the Firm, Avi worked as an associate at a real estate litigation firm, where he oversaw real estate litigation and default services matters in Kings County Supreme Court. He drafted pleadings, attended court appearances, and collaborated closely with clients to navigate motions and settlement conferences. Avi also served as a legal intern in the Enforcement Division of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, where he supported investigations and regulatory enforcement initiatives.
Avi is a co-founder of George Washington University Law School’s Medical-Legal Partnership Clinic and has worked across diverse legal domains—from commercial contracts at Western Alliance Bank to public interest advocacy and legal tech startups. Avi’s background also includes work in health policy analysis and legal education access.
Avi earned his J.D. with honors from The George Washington University Law School, where he was a Thurgood Marshall Scholar and served on the Journal of Energy & Environmental Law. Avi holds a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Public Health, also from George Washington University.
